Steve Babaeko and others feature as Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival Celebrates 10 Years of Creative Excellence

The annual Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) is set celebrate ideas and reward creative excellence by Nigeria’s most creative minds in advertising, media and marketing in a week long program of activities that will culminate to the Award Dinner on November 21, 2015 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The festival will kick off on November 18, 2015 with the Young LAIFERs competition, a platform where young practitioners and budding creative talents showcase their creativity. This will be followed by the LAIF Awards Seminar on November 20, 2015, which is expected to pool about 500 participants from the Marketing Communications industry.

It will be facilitated by the industry big weights including CEO X3M Marketing Ideas Limited, Steve Babaeko, Freelance Films/Commercial Director, The Association Publishing Group South Africa, Liam Cundill and others. Exhibitors include the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN), ace Nollywood producer, Kunle Afolayan and O2 Academy.

Founded in June 2006, LAIF is a brainchild of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) formerly known as Association of Advertising Practitioners of Nigeria (AAPN). The association is the umbrella body that coordinates and promotes the interest of Advertising Agencies in Nigeria.

LAIF was established in line with AAAN’s mission to regulate the practice of advertising among member-agencies with the aim of improving standards and encouraging symbiotic relationships among practitioners and other related bodies, in order to enhance the business environment and move the industry forward.

A LAIF Managing Board was also instituted after its maiden edition. The board was given a three-year mandate to oversee to the effective planning of the festival. Today, the board is headed by Ikechi Odigbo while CEO X3M Ideas, Steve Babaeko occupies the vice-chairman position.

Speaking on the festival programme, Chairman LAIF Managing Board, Ikechi Odigbo remarked. “The committee has done excellently well in planning this unique landmark of LAIF. We are celebrating a decade of consistency and integrity and it is our delight that the creative industry is celebrated in this manner.”

The award dinner will be preceded by a pre-award party where staff of various agencies will congregate in a relaxed environment to celebrate a harvest of ideas.
