Doctors have warned against practicing oral sex, citing the dangers involved for both the man and the woman. Among the risk are infectious virus such as the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which mutates into cervical cancer.
These doctors revealed when ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with them on the dangers of oral sex…
AZZUM, a staffer of County Hospital, Ogba, Lagos, described oral sex as when there is no penetration. It is usually done by the opposite sex. He further spoke about how oral sex is practised as the male sucks the female clitoris and the labia majora while the female sucks the penis and scrotum. This is called cunnilingus and fellacio. Oral sex is medically unhealthy. It is a source of infection of either partner.
The infection includes Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and esophageal candidisis. The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) has been associated with cervical cancer and if an infected lady is actively sucked by a man, he could be infected.
Other bacterial infections could be as well be transmitting. For a lady to detect if she has the virus, she has to undergo a test called PAP Smear. If the lady detects early, the better treatment plan she gets.
Therefore, youths and couples should put a shop to oral sex as they tend to put their lives in danger.
Another doctor, ADEWALE, a staffer of Precise Medical Laboratory, Fagba, Lagos, condemned oral sex medically. He said the dangers involved in oral sex can be stopped if youths and couples can refrain from it.
He also said, “HPV is real and it destroys the immune system, starting from the mouth to the throat, especially in sexually active women.
“The virus which takes time to be discovered in an infected person can be automatically transferred not only through oral sex but through genital sex and genetic make-up.
“Nigerians need to lay more emphasis on vaccination for Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) as it is destroying a lot of lives. There should be adequate protection during oral sex but most couples do not like the idea of wearing condoms during oral sex as they don’t get the desired satisfaction.”
