Taiwo Oshadipe’s autopsy report released – died of cardiopulmonary failure (heart failure)

Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has concluded its autopsy on Taiwo Oshadipe who died on her way to the hospital on Friday, October 3, 2014. And cardiopulmonary failure was mentioned as her cause of death.

Otherwise known as heart failure (‘a sudden stop in effective blood circulation due to failure of the heart to contract effectively or at all,’ according to wikipedia).

Long before passing on, the young woman had constantly complained about chest and heart pains – but the ailment was not successfully diagnosed.

She had travelled abroad about the ailment and consulted at home, all without identifying condition.

The pain reportedly escalated few weeks before she passed on – and she was admitted in the hospital.

When she was a bit stronger, she was discharged, only for the pains to amplify. And in the middle of the night of Friday, October 3, the pains were unbearable. She was screaming and hollering,  ‘My chest, my heart.’

From their Jibowu Street, Abule Egba (Lagos) bungalow, she was ‘rushed’ to the hospital (LASUTH), but died on the way around 6:30am.

LASUTH authorities decided on an autopsy, and for many days everyone was apprehensive, unsure of what could have caused her death and awaiting the result of the tests.

And finally, it was released, and ruled as cardiopulmonary failure.

The long term manager of the Oshadipe Twins, Olumide Akinsanya confirmed to encomium.ng in the afternoon of Tuesday, October 14, 2014, that she indeed died of cardiopulmonary failure.
