Taste Of Love hits airwaves

+ Cast of Nigeria’s first telenovella unveiled

Nigeria’s leading production, content acquisition and distribution company, Micromedia Marketing Limited has made history in this side of the world by producing the first telenovella drama series with 150 episodes.

The telenovella drama series entitled Taste of Love is an acquired telenovella format from Latin America and Eastern Europe. An award-winning and best selling romance novel produced and adapted locally for the Nigerian television audience and film critics say it is about the best to come out of Nollywood.

Taste of Love dates back to the military era of the 90s in the history of Nigeria. It depicts the friendship, betrayal and hatred among rival sugar cane plantation families, Musa-Phillips and Pepple. Ibrahim Musa-Phillips is convinced that Jonathan Pepple has betrayed him and caused the death of his wife, Maria. Until the real dark truth comes out, their children, who fall in love with each other will have to overcome the family hatred.

The very first Nigerian telenovella series tells an intriguing story through 150 episodes involving three major families and two-love birds; Hadiza and Kelechi, the children of two rival sugarcane growing families who are separated by their families and will have to overcome astonishing obstacles to truly be together.

Taste of Love goes beyond love, intrigues, suspense and betrayal. It portrays the wealth of our culture and supremacy.

Shot on locations set in Ilorin, Ibadan and Lagos. Taste of Love is set to raise the bar in the delivery of quality entertainment to the Nigerian populace. It is the first of its kind to be locally produced and will begin airing on terrestrial, cable, satellite, digital and mobile TV in October 2014.

According to the MD/CO, Mrs. Shileola Ibironke Micromedia’s main objective is to replicate the global production success of the Latin American genre of drama within the Nigerian production, entertainment and media landscape. Thus, pioneering an emerging production model that is set to revolutionise the delivery of quality, compelling and suspense-filled drama with a begin/end story template to the Nigerian TV audience. This move will further underscore the development, creativity and success of the Nigeria entertainment industry to the world.

Taste of Love was formally unveiled on Friday, August 1, 2014, in Ibadan, Oyo State. The event was attended by top media professionals, management of Micromedia Marketing Limited and some cast and crew of the telenovella.
