A 13-year-old girl, Kirra-Belle Olsson has taken to Facebook to share pictures of her close shave with death after being bitten by a one-metre (3ft) shark.
Kirra-Belle, while surfing off Avoca Beach, 60 miles (95km) north of Sydney, Australia was bitten on her left ankle as the shark tried to drag her off her board causing puncture wounds to her calf and foot.
“It just swung me around and tried to pull me under and I saw the tail and … I really didn’t know what to do so I just started screaming,” Kirra-Belle told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation at Gosford Hospital.
Kirra-Belle then took to Facebook, posting simply “Got attacked by a shark”, with several photos of the bite marks.
