Akpako master, Gabriel Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G has reacted to the robbery that happened to him on Sunday, October 6, 2013.
Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly, he narrated how the dare devil thieves made away with his valuables and personal effects.
“It happened on a Sunday, October 6, 2013, around 1am while I was going for an event at a club in my neighbourhood around Iju-Ishaga, Lagos.”
The items they made away with included, “My iPhone 5s, Blackberry Q10, another Blackberry phone, gold chain and wrist watch. They wanted to take the car but they did not succeed because it had security. They couldn’t start it.
However, they returned some of those items. They returned my Blackberry Q10 and iPhone which I did not collect from them.”
Contrary to claims that the men of the underworld shot him, he said, “They didn’t shoot me, they fired shots in the air and left. I was there with my personal assistant, Uchnike IQ of House of Ginjah and Allen Euro. No one was injured.”
We probed also to know if the incident was reported to the police. “Yes, we went to Iju Police Station and reported the incident. The DPO is much aware of the whole incident.”
He also spoke on the lessons learnt from the incident: “I don’t think it’s a good idea to be a night crawler but celebrities have no choice. We have night performances we must attend.”
A couple of weeks back, news went viral on social media that the eccentric hiphop singer was robbed and shot. Though it happened a couple of weeks back but his management kept it from the media until rumour mongers got wind of it.
Born Amanyi Oche Gabriel, Terry G started his career as a protégé of ex-Plantashaun Boiz singer, Faze. The CEO of TGP Records has many albums and hits to his credit. He has also done a lot of collaborations.
