Encomium
The last has not been heard of the conflict between Paul and Peter Okoye. A couple of days back, another fight broke out between the duo, and fans and well wishers are praying they would reconcile in no distant time.
Here are the many times the duo has fought in the last three years…
1. Saturday, April 19, 2014.
It was reported that Peter Okoye didn’t want anything to do with PSquare because he moved of Squaresville in Omole (Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos) where he lived with his brothers for years. He moved to Lekki Phase 1 (Victoria Osland) with his wife Lola Omotayo and their children. The cause of the rift was over Peter’s accusation that Paul and Jude were sidelining him. That if they pushed out 200 songs, 199 songs would be written by Paul. That people were calling him a dancer in P-Square. Peter was really angry. He also accused his brother Jude of disrespecting his wife.
2. April 11, 2015.
Another crisis erupted when Paul Okoye hinted that there was trouble in Paradise when he shared a list of songs that were written and produced solely by him. They later worked things out.
3. March 20, 2016
Peter wanted Jude, their elder brother, to step down as a manager, while Paul supported Jude. Peter launched a scathing attack on Jude on Twitter, announcing he was no longer the pop group’s manager, adding that whoever does any business with him “does so at their own risk”. Peter also further said the whole drama began after Paul began posted lyrics of most of their songs on Instagram, saying he was the writer. They eventually made up on April 25, 2014. They shared different tweets that suggested that all was well with squared records.
4. Last week, September 21, 2017
Peter, this time around, accused Paul of slandering is wife and children with lies on social media and alleged that they have now been receiving threatening messages. He also accused his older brother Jude of once threatening to kill him and shoot his wife Lola. This allegedly happened in the presence of Paul and former first Lady of Cross River state, Mrs Imoke. Peter insisted that he has had enough of the drama and wants out of the PSqaure group and contract. The singer, who now refers to himself as Mr. P, stated that he loves his brothers and their families, and he wishes them the very best in their careers. However, he cannot betray his wife and kids as they are very important to him.
