The president Nigerians want in 2015 (2)

Sick and tired of the present administration, Nigerians have been listing the qualities they want in the man to be elected president on Saturday, February 14, 2015.

‘We want a man that will put smile on people’s face’ – GIFT IMENWO
We have been having presidents who seem to concentrate on certain states, so I want a president who would spread his developmental tentacles to all the federating states, to every part of the country.

‘I want a president who would focus on important things’ – JUDITH ALIA
I want a president who would focus on important things – not petty internal party politics which would only distract him. That’s all I want.

‘I want a man that will deliver’ – ESTHER OZOEMENA
I am not a pro-party, pro-religion or sentimental voter. I look at the manifesto and campaign speeches of an aspirant before I cast my vote. So, what I want in my president is the ability to pick the right people for the right offices. A president is only as good as the people surrounding him.

‘I want a courageous president’ – SEUN JOHNSON
A Nigerian president will need to be fearless to be able to fight corruption and destroy some cabals that have kept us in this mess for years. So, I want a courageous president because that is what I feel we need at this point.

‘A man that will tackle Boko Haram’ – RUTH EJIROGHENE
Me, I want a president that will stand up to these Boko Haram terrorists and face them head on. Not one who will shrink in the face of adversity.

‘I want a president who has the fear of God’ – EVANG. SAMFIELD BASSEY
For me, all I want is a president who has the fear of God. If he fears God, he would not be corrupt, he would perform and deliver the dividends of democracy. In fact, he would be a complete president.

‘A president who would put the interest of Nigerians above everything else’ – GODWIN ABRAHAM
I am not interested in a southern president, neither am I interested in a northern president. All I want is a president who is Nigerian, true and true. One who would rule with no tribal, political or religious sentiment.
A president who would put the interest of Nigerians above everything else.

‘A man who will be sensitive to the needs of the people’ – PROMISE NWACHUKWU
I would like a president who will be sensitive to the needs of the people, not one who will just come up with policies without considering both the immediate and long term effects on the people.

‘We want a trustworthy president’ – MRS. ADEBIMPE
We want a trustworthy president, uncorrupt president and an able president. From his past record, he is a trustworthy person and if he is not, the opposition party would have used that against him. What I want to see in him is that he should be open minded to everybody and also carry the citizens along. He should not be biased. He must be a father to the nation.

‘We want a president that is God fearing’ – MR. TUNDE OJOMO
We want a president that is God fearing, someone who can tackle the Boko Haram insurgency, a president who can provide electricity, security and job opportunities to millions of Nigerians. He must not be tribalistic, he must be a religious person.
The citizens are looking towards 2015 elections in order to liberate them. For 56 years of independence, we do not have electricity. What we want is a person who is not corrupt.

‘A man that will provide all the basic amenities’ – ENG. KOLAWOLE OYEDELE
We want a president who is God fearing, humble, always ready to listen to the citizenry because if he does not listen to us. There is no way the country will progress. He should be able to provide all the basic amenities. He should be honest.

‘A humble and God fearing president’ – MISS OMOWUNMI OGUNDE
A God fearing president, humble, not biased because we want love and peace in the country.

‘My type of president for 2015 is Mr. Ben Bruce…’ – MR. OLUWASEGON KEHINDE
My type of president for 2015 is Mr. Ben Bruce or Prof Wole Soyinka, not a nonentity like those presented to us by the PDP and APC. They are men of easy virtues.

‘Nigeria needs a man of action not a man who has no mind of his own’ – MR. LAIDE ADEBAYO
For me, I prefer Goodluck Jonathan. Buhari is also good, he is honest but he is not a man of action. Buhari is a figure head. During his tenure as the military president, he was just there. Idiagbon was the one controlling him. If he becomes the president, he will be controlled by the likes of Tinubu, who is only after his own selfish interest.
Nigeria needs a man of action not a man who has no mind of his own.

‘We need a honest leader…’ – MR. MICHAEL MACUGWU
Nigerians don’t look at qualities, otherwise the two presidential candidates we have now won’t be in the picture. For this country to grow, we need a honest leader not someone who is only there for the benefit of himself and his party.

‘I want a president that sees himself as Nigeria, makes Nigeria a priority’ – MR. JOSEPH NWOSU
The type of president I want is a president that sees himself as Nigeria, makes Nigeria a priority and has Nigeria at heart regardless of his tribe and religion. I belong to PDP, but that has nothing to do with who I vote for at the federal level.
My vote belongs to Goodluck Jonathan, coming down to the state level in Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode of APC has my vote.

‘I want a president that will transform this nation’ – MR. BAMIDELE ONI
I want a president that has zero tolerance for corruption, who is committed, responsible and most especially the one who has the masses at heart. I want a president that will transform this nation by all ramifications.

‘I want a military president’ – MR. MIRACLE OLADIPUPO
I want a military president because I think he is the one that can rule the country well and I believe he has what it takes to do so.

‘I want a man of integrity’ – MRS. O. BAMIDELE
I want a man of integrity and value to rule this nation. A president that during his tenure, there will be peace and progress. I pray that God would put a man after His heart in the position.

‘A man that will fight bribery and corruption’ – AYOMIKUN ENOCH
All I want is God’s intervention in these forthcoming elections. I want a man that will see to the security challenges of this country. I want a disciplinarian, a man that will fight bribery and corruption.

‘We want someone who can tackle this insurgency…’ – BUKOLA LAWAL
A president that would bring the nation to a state of peace. We no longer sleep with our eyes closed, we don’t want to continue to watch our back. We want someone who can tackle this insurgency, insecurity and suffering.

‘A president that would represent the people’s interest’ – LOLADE SANNI
A president that would represent the people’s interest, not his fat account. Imagine the kind of money donated for Mr. President’s re-election campaign, money that can be used to better the lot of Nigerians.

‘We need a president that will see himself as a servant to all’ – NIYI AKILAPA
The kind of president I want is the one that will address all the problems facing the country with sincerity of purpose. He must be sensitive to people’s plights. He mustn’t be self-centred. We need a president that will see himself as a servant to all Nigerians and not a ruler per se.
He must be ready to lead with conscience. I believe in Muhammedu Buhari.

‘I want a man of integrity to rule Nigeria’ – LOWO ADEGBENJO
I want a man of integrity to rule Nigeria starting from May 29, 2015. A person that will be concerned about issues that affect the poor masses not just a few. The kind of president I want is the one that will respect the rule of law to the extreme and enforce such without minding whose ox is goad.
Nigeria needs a brilliant leader who will transform the country socio-politically, economically, educationally and all that. He must also be brave enough to address security challenged facing the country.

‘We want a transparent man’ – OLUBODE MAC OSERINDE
I want a president that would respect the rule of law, that will be transparent and an exemplary good leadership.

‘A man that has conscience’ – KAYODE SALAKO
The president I want in 2015 must be the one that will be passionate about upholding the tenets of the rule of law in Nigeria. Impunity is worse than corruption. If governing Nigeria can be absolutely subjected to the rule of law and social order, it will be tough for the survival of corruption, insecurity, mismanagement of resources and lawlessness.
People do whatever they like because our president does not have the political will to prosecute people who commit crime against our laws. I want a president that has character, highly disciplined and responsible. A man who can manage the resources of the country efficiently.
A man who can truly transform Nigeria ideally, economically, socially, politically and physically. A man that has conscience, value and substance. A man that will see the problem of Nigeria as his responsibility and every part of Nigeria as his constituency for development.
The kind of president who can carry everybody along and lead by ideal examples. Not a man that will be wasteful, promoting political gangsterism and abusing power. A man who can redeem the image of Nigeria and build enough prisons for offenders. And I think Buhari fits adequately into all these attributes this time around and that’s who gets my vote.

‘We need a corrupt-free government’ – KELECHI AMADI
We must admit the fact that corruption has eaten deep into the fabric of our nation. So, the leader we want in 2015 must tackle corruption without looking at faces.

‘Nigeria needs a good leader’- AGNES EJENEBOR
Leadership is our bane as a nation. So, we need a good leader in 2015. Jonathan or Buhari, all we are yearning for is good leadership.

‘Nigeria desires change’ – MIKE PAM
We really want a president that will change Nigeria for the better. We badly need a change.

‘We want a strong-willed president’ – KINGSLEY EJIOFOR
In 2015, all we want is a president that is strong and firm to fix Nigeria. We don’t care about his tribe or religion.
