‘The show surpassed expectations’ – YAW

POPULAR radio presenter and on-air personality, Steve Onu a.k.a Yaw, staged his comedy show tagged The Past, The Present and The Future, on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

ENCOMIUM Weekly had a chat with him about the show and more.

How will you rate your show, The Past, The Present and The Future?

I think it is the best as far as I am concerned.  I think I did well but, it is people that should come up with an assessment of the success of the show.  By my rating, it was a huge success.

What were the highlights of the show that made it a success?

The fact that we visited the past, blended it with the present and brought out something to expect in the future.  I have gotten feedback from people as well.  Artistes came, had great performance.

How does it feel that your dream for the show came to pass?

It feels great.  I believe in aiming high, going for the best.  I am grateful for the support like yours (ENCOMIUM Weekly).  I really appreciate the support of all our sponsors too.

How much did the event cost?

About N20 something million.

Will you say you have recouped all invested into it?

I have not done the account balance.  The most important thing is that, we have put smiles on the faces of people.  A lot of people came, enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to the next edition by God’s grace.

What next should we expect from the stable of Yaw?

I am going to continue with the shooting of my sitcom, Yaw’s and Myn.  I don’t know how next year’s show is going to be.  We are taking it a step at a time.  We are also looking forward to the best God has in store for us.  I have my shows to work on as well.

There are speculations that your SUV worth N20m was stolen before the event, is it true?

My car was not stolen in the true sense of the word.  It was a skit for the show of Sunday, May 31, 2015.

What is the truth about Yaw’s marital status.  It is alleged that you got married secretly and even have a child?

Where is that child?  They should show me my child and my wife.  I will let you know when I see a wife.
