Thief hypnotizes store owner as he robs

A “hypnotist thief” put the owner of an upmarket in a trance before he searched through his trouser pockets and stole the day’s earnings, running into hundreds of pounds.

Friends today said 56-year-old Aftab Haider, who owns wine store Hops and Pops in Highgate (north London) was left “stunned” by the theft which mirrors techniques used as entertainment by street magicians.
Scotland Yard yesterday (December 5) released the shop’s CCTV footage which captured the bizarre incident at around 9.45pm on September 11.
