This is how much money l need every month to live well (2)

Surviving and living well in the city requires enormous resources. And with a family and many dependents, you need far more.

encomium.ng spoke to Lagosians about how much they really need to live well.

And here are their responses…

 

Glory Nmeje (N100,000)

I am 26 years old, unemployed, engaged. I think N100, 000 will be reasonably managed, with the nature of what is going on in the country. I make my hair with N10,000 in a month, I buy at least a pair of sandals N3,000, a gown N7,000, I get foodstuffs for a month N30,000, jewelry and accessories N10,000, makeup kit 5,000, underwears 5,000, transportation 10,000 miscellaneous expenses N20,000.

 

Jeffrey Ayodele (N500,00)

I am 27, a surveyor, and single. I think N500, 000 will do for a month. I use N200, 000 on investments, N20, 000 will go for food, N20, 000 on transportation, N5,000 on Airtime, N5,000 on the internet, N20,000 on flexing, N10,000 on laundry. I don’t joke with my grandma, I give her N20,000, I give my cleaner N20,000, I fuel my car with N20000 and then use the rest for insurance.

 

Mr. Olaniyi Jonah (N500,000)

I am 42, l am an interior decorator, married with two kids. I will need N500,000 for a month. Foodstuffs N50,000, clothing for my family N100,000, fuelling my car and maintenance N100,000. I must give my wife N50,000 for her own upkeep, we use N50, 000 for our laundry per month, utility bills N50, 000, medical insurance N50,000 I keep N50, 000 for other expenses.

 

Tolulope Fisayomi (N300,000)

I am 25 years old, a P.A to a senior advocate (SAN), and single. I will need N300,000 in a month to take care of daily needs like clothing N50,000, accessories N25,000, foodstuff and drinks N75,000, makeup kits N5,000, transportation N45,000. I pay my bills N50,000 and the remaining balance will be used for other things.

 

Chioma Nzewuihe (N200,000)

I am 32, a businesswoman. l am a single mother of two. I would need N200,000 per month to live well. I don’t joke with my stomach I will stock the house with foodstuffs of N80, 000, transport N20,000, clothing for a month for me and my two kids will amount to N50,000, the remaining 50,000 I will use it for utility and other bills.

 

Bola Adekola (N250,000)

I am 48, a hair stylist, and married with a child. I will need N250,000 for a month. I will use N50,000 to add to my business, food and other kitchen needs N50,000, clothing N40,000, transportation N10,000,  as well as change my hairstyle twice a month N5,000, airtime N5,000, my bills and other needs N40,000. The remaining N50,000 I will send to my mother and siblings in the village.

 

Ukpa Sylvester (N400,000)

I am 49 years, an entrepreneur, and married with three children. I will need N400,000 per month, I give my wife N100, 000 for foodstuff every month, fuelling and maintenance of our car N50,000, clothing for the five of us per month is at least N50,000. I will pay my bill both at home and the office N50,000, I give my younger siblings N50,000 every month. I release N30,000 to my wife for her hair and other things, I reserve N20,000 for my kids, other expenses will take the remaining N50,000.

 

Tracy Festus (N200,000)

I am 29, a nurse, and l am single. I will need just N200,000 to live well in a month. I will stock my kitchen with foodstuff of N50,000, I add to my wardrobe every month with N50,000, my makeup kits, hair and other accessories will cost me N50’000. I use the remaining balance to foot my bill and other necessary needs.

 

Olanrewaju Olusola (N500,000)

I am 46, a pharmacist, and I am married with two kids. I will need N500,000 for a month. I will give my wife N150,000 for feeding four of us in a month, I will need N50,000 to maintain our family car, items of clothing for that month will cost N100,000, N50,000 will be for my children’s school needs, and l will also give N50,000 to my wife to tidy and package herself for a month, N50,000 will be for utility bills and other expenses, while I use  the remaining balance to send to my mother for her upkeep.

 

Ruth Ajayi

I am 28, self-employed, single mother of one. I will need N200, 000 for myself and my boy, our feeding will take N50,000, items of clothing and accessories N50,000, transportation and other bills N50,000, makeup, inner wears, manicure and pedicure N30,000, other needs will take N20,000.
