Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is facilitating the return of the remains of star actress, Moji Olaiya, from Canada, later this week. The national leader of All Progressives Congress and pillar of democracy has released the funds needed to move the body of the 42 year old mother of two children to Nigeria.

Family sources told encomium.ng that Moji Olaiya’s Nollywood colleagues and family members met the large hearted strategist this morning (Monday, May 22, 2017) in Lagos where the kind gesture was concluded.

And with the funds handy, preparations to ferry the adored and humble actress who died in the early hours of Thursday, May 18, 2017, of cardiac arrest following childbirth complications, are on course.

Paper work for her return are being prepared by Femi Olaiya who arrived Canada on Saturday, May 20 night from his London (the United Kingdom) base.

The brother of the deceased is reported to have seen Moji’s two months’ old daughter who is in good health.

Barring any last minute change, her remains should arrive Nigeria before Thursday, May 25.

Burial plans are still sketchy as family and colleagues are in concert to give her a befitting funeral.

Now, 18 year old Adunola, the deceased’s daughter who is a third year Law student of Babcock University in Illisan, near Ijebu Ode (Ogun state), is happy that her mother will be buried in Nigeria. She was in the entourage that met Asiwaju Tinubu.

And Sir Victor Olaiya, the father of the actress (whose Abuja based Alhaji husband arrived Lagos on Thursday, May 18), is regularly updated on goings on. The 88 year old legendary highlife king was informed about Moji’s departure on Friday, May 19, by Bayode Olaiya who was joined by his sister, Yejide.

He accepted the tragedy in good faith.

The  move by Moji Olaiya’s colleagues to Ekiti state, the homestead of the filmmaker, was botched as the letter Lere Olayinka (the Special Assistant to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Publicity and New Media) advised the burial committee to write was never done.

The committee had reached Olayinka through Yomi Fabiyi (its Publicity Secretary) on phone, and he advised they make it official through a letter – which they never wrote until Asiwaju Tinubu’s intervention…
