TME returns with Over There

Oluwatimilehin Obanla, popularly called TME is a fast rising hip hop sensation gradually making waves in the music industry. The 19 year old Afro-pop singer is from Yewa South of Ogun state. He’s currently a student of Health and Environmental Management at the Canadian University, Dubai. TME who is currently enjoying rave reviews with his debut single She Wanna Wife Me produced by ID Cabasa, spoke with ENCOMIUM Weekly about his sophomore single entitled, Over There…

Tell us about your new work?

I have a song entitled, She Wana Wife Me, produced by ID Cabasa, and the video directed by Godfather Production. I am dropping my next single next week. It’s called Over There.

What inspired you into music?

It has always been my long time dream to do music, but the support wasn’t there at that time. But now, I have so much support, that’s why I coming back fully into the industry.

Why are you having their support now?

I have done what they wanted from me, which is school. I am in school now, that’s why they are giving me support. My mom now likes to be called Iya Musician, contrary to the generally accepted, Iya Doctor. Music, to me, makes people happy, that’s why I want to be a musician. To make people happy.

Which of the artistes inspires you?

Wande Coal. He has inspired me a lot. He has a nice voice, he’s a great singer. That’s why I love listening to his songs always. I won’t lie to you. I also have a good voice, but different from Wande Coal. I have not seen someone with my kind of voice in the industry.

Where would you like to see yourself in two years?

At the top. I am going to be everywhere because I am not here to play. It’s going to be a serious business. Yes, the industry is saturated but I am going to make great impact, just give me few years to deliver.
