No Nigerian party is complete without a live band. Wonderful covers, exhilarating performances, they leave a refreshing taste on their diverse audience.
Here are the top live bands to rock Nigeria’s rich event circle in 2022.
Sharp Band (Anesi Ivharue)
The award winning SHARP BAND always a delight and most entertaining band to watch on stage. Their stage craft is top notch with an array of fantastic singers. Well choreographed dance to complement their stunning performances. Preferred by lagos state government to grace all state events, Sharpbandallstars as its popularly known is one of the longest and still trending Bands in Nigeria today.. Throughout the festive period of 2021, the band is the toast of the high and mighty, shakers and movers of this country and even beyond who engages them in various forms of events and private parties in and outside Nigeria
Sharpband has a sound company named “sound99” and recently aquired brand new sets of state of the art line-array equipment and trucks and as if that was not enough, the man of the moment just established cloth and shoe line.
With fresh female vocals, he is looking into the new year with optimism.

SBLive (Seun Bankole)
Nigeria’s multiple award-winning crossover music star, Seun Bankole aka SB Live is unarguably the most engaging act with an overwhelming stage presence.
SBLive, has traversed the palette of Nigerian contemporary music genres with ease. An embodiment of musical dexterity, raw energy and passion for music, the smooth and suave singer, alongside his seven-piece band have been listed among the top Live Band Musicians in Nigeria several times.
In 2021 SBLive went on US Tour. During the tour that took the singer and his band across over 20 major US cities, where he became the toast of the old and young party and music lovers, 2022 should be another wonderful year for him.
Cool Ice (Elijah Odiakose)
Elijah Odiakose, left Benin in 2015 and relocated to Lagos to set up a band called Cool Ice band.
Cool Ice Band, a talented group of young musicians. They don’t just play music, they believe in good music and how it affects the soul and heart of their listeners and to bring joy and satisfaction to their audience and with this, they have emerged as elites favourite when it comes to provision of quality live music to corporate and individual clients from all spheres of influence, delivering a totally unique and exciting musical experience over seven years.

With his debut music album done and dusted, Elijah is planning to release two videos before July this year.
Eboni Band (Godbless Ubeibifayen)
2021 was not just an eventful year for Eboni singer, Godbless Ubeibifayen. It was a year marked with breakthroughs as the band’s leader acquired some of the latest sound equipment. Since he made Lagos his base, fortune continues to smile on him. The father of three has also put some structure to his operations. The focused humour merchant has been a consistent and hard-working musician, raking in mouth-watering figures in billing and patronage. With bated breath, the live band scene awaits Godbless Ubeibifayen grand surprise in the new year.
Shuga Band (Akinloye Tofowomo)
Nigeria’s creme de la creme readily recognise the cool and polished Akin Shuga and his band on stage, even in the dark.
2021 was a mix of fortune and misfortune for the band. His keyboardist and his male lead singer both ran away during one of there shows outside Nigeria and all attempts to get new ones have been unsuccessful.
Although, despite the cancellations and anxiety over the new strain of Covid-19 and government regulations on large gatherings, the Shuga band took advantage of the situation to create three unique service offerings and packages with their darling Covid compact package showing adaptability in the face of the global pandemic.
2021 also saw the band play quite a handful of Nigeria’s premium destination weddings across the United Kingdom but, he lost two of his most trusted band members in the UK show. If he’s able to get back his mojo in 2022, he will definitely get his groves back.
Veentage Band (Desmond Emokiniovo)
There was no need denying the fact that Veentage Band’s Desmond Emokiniovo struggles in 2021.
He was allegedly chased away from the gig of one the South West Governor in December 2021 In fact, at a time he (Desmond) was the one playing the keyboard by himself just to block the absence of an experienced keyboardist that just left the band.
In fact, April 2020 dealt a huge blow to Desmond Emokiniovo. Not only did he lose his wife and partner in the business, Ejiro, the founding team members comprising three major lead singers and four instrumentalists left the Veentage band abruptly allegedly on the grounds that he didn’t honour the equal ownership agreement they had.
The mass exodus was said to have been allegedly orchestrated by a former band leader who then went ahead to set up a now-parallel band known as Elixir band.
