ON Wednesday, November 27, 2013, the world’s second largest movie industry, that is our own Nollywood, staged an award nite in continuation of its 20th year celebrations. Held at the prestigious Intercontinental Hotel, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, scores of movie stars, film makers and other industry stakeholders graced the high octane night of glamour and glitz.
ENCOMIUM Weekly was at the Grand Award Night and engaged some of them as well as the awardees on chats that bordered on their perception of Nollywood and where it is headed.
THE ANCHORS
With streams of musical performances and comedy, Nollywood @ 20 Grand Award Night was anchored by OAP, Olisa Adibua and TV gal, Mariam Anazodo. The duo kept it real as they gave a good account of their acts.
THE DRINKS AND FINGER FOOD
There were indeed varieties of drinks. Finger foods were also available at one’s beck and call. Despite the over abundance of wines and spirits, not a few expected they would be treated to a dinner in celebration of the industry’s best and brightest.
WHAT A NIGHT OF GLITZ AND GLAMOUR!
Nollywood @ 20 grand awards will go down in history as the biggest gathering of Nollywood stakeholders in recent times. With over 100 Nollywood goons at the event, you needn’t be told that the world’s second largest movie industry was indeed in a celebratory mood. The event that formally kicked off around 8 p.m was on till 11.30 p.m, when AMP President, Zik Zulu Okafor passed a vote of thanks.
