Tope Alabi debunks drug trafficking tale: ‘It’s all lies’

Top gospel singer, Tope Alabi, has debunked the controversies surrounding her in recent times. The gifted singer in a chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, debunked the allegation that she was involved in drug trafficking and the rumour that she confessed that she was once into witchcraft.

“I wonder why people really enjoy fabricating lies. I was on tour abroad and ministering when I read the false reports. I was never involved in drugs and neither was I arrested or detained. Such things can’t be covered up. I was also shocked when I listened to the self confession of someone who sounded like me claiming she was into witchcraft and other stuffs. It’s a grand plot by mischief makers to swindle innocent people of their hard earned money.”

Few weeks back, it was alleged that the beautiful actress, who was on tour was arrested and detained for drug trafficking.

Tope Alabi, also known as Ore Ti O Common, and as Agbo Jesu (born 27 October 1970 in Ogun) is a multi-platinum Nigerian gospel singer, film music composer and actress.

Alabi was formerly a member of the Jesters International Comedy Group. She later worked with other popular travelling and stage theatre groups in Ibadan (Oyo) and Lagos. She made films in the Yoruba film genre of Nigeria. Alabi later metamorphosed into gospel music after she became a born-again Christian. She is married to Evangelist Soji Alabi.
