After many years of running Sixth Sense, an interior decoration company based in Lekki, Lagos, the woman who has a background in Accounting is now ready to explore other ventures…

4What is the idea behind the setting up of Rehabiah?

It is the quest to solve a problem. And the problem is that the plus size women need to be celebrated more. Plus size women need to be catered for. Before now, all attention was on slim women and now Africa is fast appreciating the plus size women.

The whole idea is to get women to have their size, however big.

What is your idea of the market before coming on board?

The gap is massive for the plus size women wears. The problem is huge. A lot of the outfits out there either make oversize dresses for them and these are the outfits that should have made dresses that sit well on a plus size woman. With the survey, the gap is wide, the need is enormous.

What is your business strategy?

Based on our survey, we realized there is need to do beautiful clothes for the plus size women. If we have nice clothes for the plus size women, I think there is no other strategy better than that. We are also making use of the social media for those who are not in Nigeria to see.

2The major problem with businesses around highbrow areas is the affordability for the average client out there?

We are within the reach of everybody. We cut across every strata. There are things for everybody.

Any plan for fashion exhibition?

We are going for African Fashion Show in London later this year.

What are the basic challenges of running Sixth Sense and now Rehabiah?

Challenges are part of life. We have competent staffers on ground.

Your business doesn’t reflect what you actually studied in school…

Yes, I studied Accounting.
