Total CEO, Christophe de Margerie died after his private jet collided with a snow plough on the runway at Vnukovo International Airport, Moscow, Russia on Monday (October 20, 2014) night.
De Margerie, from France, died along with all three members of crew on board the plane with Russian investigators claiming that the driver of the snow plough was drunk during the incident, adding that preliminary inquiries would focus on “an error by the pilots and the actions of the snow plough driver.”
However, the driver’s lawyer denied the claim, saying that his client has a heart problem and never touches alcohol.
“My client has chronic heart disease, he doesn’t drink at all. His relatives and doctors can confirm this,” lawyer Alexander Karabanov told Interfax news agency.
