Tributes rain on Toyin Majekodunmi

Colleagues are still struggling to come to terms with the death of veteran actress Toyin Majekodunmi who passed on on Monday, January 2, following typhoid complications.
And many of them have paid glowing tributes to the 61 year old mother of four…

Mr. Adewale Abdul-Rasaq
Director of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association (TAMPPAN)
She is a colleague and someone that has paid her dues in the industry. She is very humble and used to everybody. There is nobody you would mention Mama Kike to that would think twice. She is so nice, accommodating to the extent that she was well recognized by everybody. I spoke with her during Henrietta Kosoko’s burial. It’s been a while I have seen her. I am very close to her husband, Baba Kekere.
Dele Odule, President Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association (TAMPPAN)

Naturally, I don’t talk about the dead because a lot people would have said a lot of things about her. Some are flattering, some are saying the truth. As an actress, I would say she did well, she was passionate about the kind of job she decided to choose as her career and she did it well. Not too many people would actually know her for this. But we people that are in the industry know she tried her best possible. In her own way she contributed immensely to the growth of entertainment particularly the Yoruba sector. She did beautifully well. She was also a very good mother. She talks about her children and she was concerned about their welfare. I give kudos to her for that because I appreciate parents who believe so much in their children.
Rose Odika, Oyo State TAMPPAN Governor

She was an easy going person. In fact, I have never seen her fight with anybody. She is a peaceful woman. She loves the welfare of others. She always wants the very best for everybody. It’s so sad we are here to mourn her. She is somebody we are going to miss so much. She brought people together. I just pray God would grant her eternal rest. The last time I saw her was at Henrietta’s burial at LTV 8.
