UK to spend £25 million for a new prison in Jamaica  

In a bid to reduce Jamaican inmates in UK prisons, they are planning on spending £25million to build a new prison in Jamaica.

The idea is for criminals to be sent home to the Caribbean to serve their sentences rather than in the UK.

Jamaica has more than 600 nationals in UK prisons, which is the third highest from any country.

British Prime Minister, David Cameron has announced that it’s a sealed deal between the UK and Jamaican government in collaboration with the Caribbean Development Bank .

The transfer of inmates of Jamaican national is set to begin in 2020.
