The University of Lagos best graduating student in 2014/2015 session Ayodele Dada will be honoured for his exceptional performance by the House of Representatives at one of its sessions.
The graduate of Psychology, who scored a 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average, the first in the history of the university, would have the honour of sitting among members of the House for a special recognition.
The House views Dada’s unique performance as inspirational and should be celebrated to encourage other students.
Encomium.ng had a chat with Ayodele Dada about how he feels about it and he said,” I was overwhelmed to find out, I really appreciate it. I want to register my profound gratitude to the person who inspired the movement, the person of Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila who is the leader of the House of Representatives. He is the one who birthed the idea and introduced it to the other leaders of the House and they supported it; he has been the one who mentioned me and decided to pursue this and I really appreciate his effort. He is a representative of the constituency where I live, that is Surulere and interestingly his house is not far from where I stayhe just took me under his wing and was very supportive, I really owe a lot to him for this”.
Also speaking on Dada’s accomplishments, Femi Gbajabiamila stated, “In the last two weeks, Nigeria and Nigerians have been inundated with the news of the incredible performance of Mr. Ayodele Dada, a student of the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Lagos, who set a new academic record by graduating with a 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average. The first time ever in the university and perhaps Nigeria’s history …. His story is compelling and inspirational to the youth and he represents and mirrors the hope of our tomorrow.”
