Korede Taiwo, who was chained by his Pastor father, Francis Taiwo has been adopted by the Ogun State Government. What’s more, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of the President, has expressed interest in the boy’s case.
The recent development was disclosed when the wife of Ogun State Governor Olufunso Amosun visited Korede at the Children’s Ward of the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.
She said, “Mrs Buhari has been following the case and she is keenly interested even before the case appeared at the front of newspapers.
“She is passionate about the matter. We interacted throughout yesterday, asking about the condition of the boy and the action that has been taken. I think this is worthy of note that the wife of our President is compassionate about happenings in various states…
“We give glory to God that Korede is active, his mind is alert and he is responding well to treatment. In terms of growth, he looks smaller than his age, but aside that in my own opinion, it seems to be recuperating well.
“I am reasured by the steps taken by Ogun State Government that it will be well with him.”
While the hospital’s Head of Paediatrics Department, Dr. Morufat Ogundeyi, said the boy is being treated for acute malnutrition and should be out Within the next few days or weeks.
Recall that Korede Taiwo was rescued on Friday, July 22, 2016, by security agents after being chained on the neck to a heavy log of wood in a room for about one month by his father, Pastor Francis Taiwo, who was in charge of Key of Joy Parish of the Celestial Church of Christ, Ajinwo, Ota.
