Update on the murder of four year old boy in Ijanikin – ’Case still under investigation; No fresh arrest’ – Police PRO

-Corpse deposited in mortuary at Ikorodu

The investigations into the cold-blooded murder of four-year-old Ibrahim Hassan Jamiu in the Ijanikin area of Lagos on Monday, July 27, 2015, is still ongoing, the police have confirmed.

And this is according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Patricia Amadin who spoke with ENCOMIUM Weekly in a phone chat on Saturday, August 21, 2015.

In her words, “There is no update. No fresh suspect has been arrested, but investigations continue.”

When asked where the victim’s corpse was deposited following conflicting media reports, “The body is not with the police. The corpse was deposited in the morgue at Ikorodu since day of the murder.”

On when the arrested suspects, totalling nine, would be charged to court, she added, “The suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.”

The heart-wrenching killing of the young child sent shivers down the spine of many. Reports said the major suspect, one Tajudeen Azeez, a 16-year-old furniture apprentice, lured the unsuspecting child to the back of Anglican Primary School, Deeper Life bus stop, Ijanikin, where he killed him, before removing his vital internal organs, including his kidneys and intestines, as well as his penis.

During interrogation, the teenager confessed to the crime, adding that he was sent by an unnamed man to get some vital organs
