Vector speaks on his Headies award

Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known by his stage name Vector tha viper. is a Nigerian hip hop artiste and winner of The Best Rap Single Award and The Lyricist On The Roll Award at the 2015 Headies Award.

ENCOMIUM Weekly had a chat with him and he told us about the award and lots more…

How do you feel winning two awards in The Headies 2015?

Starting the year with double recognition feel great! It’s a great confidence booster for the Lafiaji album that I am about to release. Glory to God.

What did you think qualified you to be the winner?

Hard work, and grace. I am not taking chances with this. God has a purpose for me that He is fulfilling.

Was The Headies the only award you won in 2015?

I also won the Copyright society of Nigeria Award (COSON) for the Best Rap Song 2015 with my hit song, King Kong.

What does The Headies Award  mean to you?

It means recognition of hard work, support of the fans and once more, grace from God.

How will you describe the event?

Growth is a process. We all grow at our dynamic paces. That said, it was good. Wasn’t perfect (then again nothing is). But it was good. The stage was awesome, Majek Fashek was awesome! His voice is still gold. Kaffy and Bovi were great hosts.

What did you want the organizers to improve on?

I’m sure they have a team working on that… It’s not my office to advice since I’m no expert.

What does stardom mean to you?

Time and chance that comes to an ordinary man, then God’s favour and grace.

What is your assessment of the music industry?

It’s better than it was. It can only get best.

Can you tell us about your love life?

It’s awesome. that’s all I can say.
