A group of women and children, who claim they were sexually abused by a British Airways pilot, are suing the airline for damages over the pilot’s actions.
The alleged victims – some as young as eight – claim they were among about 50 who were assaulted by the pilot at schools and orphanages in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
They say the British Airways should be responsible because the pilot – First Officer Simon Wood – carried out the alleged attacks while on stopovers.
British law firm, Leigh Day, said Wood – who died under the wheels of a train days before he was due to go on trial last year – molested the youngsters during visits to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
It also said it is sending a team of staff to the countries to recruit more alleged victims to join the case.
