A new research by the University of Arizona (USA) has dispelled popular myths about catching an illness on a flight after it found that the aisle seats are the most culpable for spreading diseases.
Passengers who sit in the aisle seats are more likely to fall ill than those who sit in a window or middle seat.
This is because they are the ones most likely to come into contact with other passengers harbouring potential bacteria and viruses, as they move up and down the plane. Additionally, those passengers tend to hold onto the aisle seats for balance, increasing the risk of any diseases being passed on.
