Dr. Allwell Orji had jumped into the lagoon from the Adeniji Adele area of Third Mainland Bridge on Sunday, March 19, around 4:45 pm.
His driver, Henry Ita, was reported to have said that Orji alighted from the Nissan Xtrail jeep after receiving a call. He told Ita that he wanted to urinate, only for him to jump into the lagoon.
Single, Dr. Orji, who works at Mount Sinai Hospital in Mushin area of Lagos, is the first of his parents three children.
Described as friendly and easy going, he was said to be suicidal. He reportedly attempted suicide on a number of occasions. And only four years ago, he tried to jump from the balcony of their two-storey house in Abule Ijesha.
