Weeks after the discovery of fuel theft site in Abule Egba

– Glonik Hotel still sealed as owner’s whereabouts still unknown

Glonik Hotel, site of the illegal fuel bunker discovered by some Naval officers on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, is still locked up, and the entrance into the area still being partly barricaded by the security operatives to the place.

encomium.ng’s visit to the vicinity around 10 pm on November 7, 2017, confirmed the situation of things around the oil theft spot as the environment which was hitherto a bubbling one is now as quiet as cemetery and in a complete blackout.

One of the residents on Social Club Road who spoke to encomium.ng under the condition of anonymity shed more light on the scenario in the area at the moment.

“Glonik Hotel is still sealed. That’s why you are still seeing the security men around. They live here until further notice. I learned they’re still looking for the owner of the hotel who has been on the run since the illegal fuel lifting was uncovered.

“The continued stay of the army officers around here has not really helped business operators at Social Club because most customers are yet to return. Even, most of the prostitutes have relocated because of low patronage. Only God knows when the security operatives will leave the place.”
