What celebs missed about Goldie

DAYO ADENEYE

‘I miss her creativity’

How do you feel a year without Goldie?

I miss her, her friendship, her warmth, her creativity, sense of humour. I greatly miss all the good things that she stood for.

What do you miss most about her?

Like I said, her sense of humour. Nobody knew how funny she was except for those very close to her. Everyone got to see flamboyant Goldie while on stage but never got to know she had a good sense of humour.

What fond memory of her do you still hold to your heart?

The last few hours we spent together at The Grammy. I saw a new side of her. A side very full of life, very playful and taking funny pictures together. She was very curious and wanted to see everything. We visited Hollywood together. I remember our last meal together, which was eba and vegetable soup in the hotel room in Los Angeles, USA.

‘I miss performing with her’

It is an opportunity to celebrate ourselves and also Goldie, to carry on the dreams she left behind.

What do you miss most about her?

Sitting and performing with her, discussing the future, career and always wanting to know everything going on with you.

What fond memory of her do you still hold to your heart?

I miss performing with her on stage. She is no more, so I have to perform on stage without her.

ESSENCE

‘I miss her little quirks’

How do you feel a year without Goldie?

I thank God so far, the pain has eased up a bit.

What do you miss most about her?

I miss her gingering spirit.

What fond memory of her do you still hold to your heart?

My fond memory was her little quirks and sayings. She used to say na wah a lot when she heard something that made her speechless.

KENNY SAINT BEST

‘She was very selfless’

How do you feel a year without Goldie?

It’s very depressing for me, but life has to go on. We must learn and make amends, also take things easy. Kennis Music has not been the same because we are one family. She was a sister, friend, my personal younger sister and no one can fill the gap.

What do you miss most about her?

I miss the ability to re-invent any new artiste. She was very selfless. Everybody’s birthday was very important to her. She must celebrate your birthday in her own was. I miss her contribution, advice and her cooking.

What fond memory of her do you still hold to your heart?

I remember two years ago, after everyone had left my house, Goldie came with a new set of people to start another birthday party for me. She got me by surprise. I always cherish every fortnight meetings, and since she passed away, we have not had that meeting.

I cherish Kennis Music Easter Fiesta because she always brought new styles and innovations on stage.
