Michelle Obama’s forest green ensemble to the State of the Union address by her husband (President Barack Obama) garnered applause across the globe.

 

Barclays to close 400 branches

Scores of employees of Barclays will be laid off –as the financial institution plots to close 400 branches in the United Kingdom.

The bank will be cutting jobs in its investment banking division as part of strategies  to save £1.7 billion.

The branches will be replaced by smaller outlets in Asda supermarkets.

 

 

Sienna Miller admits blunder

Actress Sienna Miller has confessed to Esquire magazine that she burnt a lot of bridges and damaged her film career.  And that she was glad that she was given a second chance.

32 year-old Miller who’s pregnant, set to marry and has several film projects lined up, admitted she had no business sense as a younger woman, dated a married actor, sabotaged her career and burnt many bridges.

The interview is due in Esquire UK March edition.

 

 

Oprah Winfrey is 60!

Talk show queen and media mogul, Oprah Winfrey is 60 today (Wednesday, January 29, 2014) –and the world is on its feet cheering on the game changer born in Mississippi, United States of America in 1954.

Expected to throw a lavish gig, the billionaire is spending a quiet time at home in California.

The 60th birthday carnival was jettisoned when her guest list grew too large.

With an estimated net worth of $2.9 billion, she rose from poverty in rural Mississippi and began at the bottom in television before her big break with Oprah Winfrey Show.
