‘Why I am giving out $10,000’ –Skales

Raoul John Njeng Njeng, popularly known as Skales is gradually climbing the ladder of success. His songs are receiving massive air play on major television stations and radio. A couple of days back, he acquired a Ford SUV jeep, ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with him about his latest acquisition, his success and lots more…

Congratulations on your new ride.

Thank you. God has been great to me. Thanks to Baseline for making it happen.‪

Why the choice of a Ford Edge jeep?

I had a Ford Explorer and I really like the Ford experience. It is different and classy.

We learnt it is worth over N8 million?

Not exactly. You can ask the closest car dealer to you to confirm.

Climbing the ladder of success is not easy, how does it feel to be one of Nigeria’s most sought after artistes now?

It feels great really and I feel really blessed. Shake Body and Obi are getting a lot of air plays on radio, TV and everywhere I go, I hear it and it makes me really happy. I am steadily working hard to make it all worth it.

With the success recorded so far, would you say leaving EME was a blessing in disguise for you?

Yes, you could say so. After we parted, I was bent on becoming great at all costs and then I got signed by Baseline.

If you have the opportunity of returning to EME, would you go back?

We parted way on good and understanding terms. I am still cool with the EME team and we would definitely work on projects together but no, I don’t see me returning to EME as a signed artiste.

How is your video Shake Body doing, how is the reception?

The reception has been amazing, my fans have been amazing, the media has been amazing. All the support from my label, Baseline Music has been incredible. Shake Body is currently number 1 on the MTN Y’Hello Top 10 charts.

What next are you working on?

I am currently working on my debut album, but before it drops, I am working on releasing more singles and videos.

How are you enjoying the relationship with your new record label?

Baseline Music is home. They have been very receptive from day one. The team is willing to support anything Skales. Great things to come from our working together.

We learnt you are giving out $10,000 to a fan who wins your dance competition, is it true?

Yes, it is. After the release of Shake Body, quite a number of fans started making dance videos on instagram and YouTube. When I got signed, I decided to give back to my fans, to show my appreciation for all the support and love. There is a prize of $10,000 (USD) for the video with the most views on my YouTube channel. All they have to do is watch the video of Shake Body then shoot their version of the video, alone or with friends. Then upload to www.skalesmusic.com and in 24 hours their video gets on my YouTube channel and then, they will promote their video link for people to watch it. The contest is open worldwide.

People believe that is a huge amount of money, where did Skales get it?

It’s a part of my sign on bonus, and I wasn’t bothered about giving it to a fan because I feel my fans will invest even more in me.
