‘Why I postponed my birthday celebration because of Moji Olaiya and other deceased actors’ – Saidi Balogun

Famous actor cum film maker, Saidi Balogun, also known as James Bond, has confirmed the postponement of his 50th birthday celebrations, earlier scheduled for  Monday, May 22 to Friday, May 26, 2017. He added that the decision was to honour late actress, Mojisola Olaiya and other colleagues of his – Olumide Bakare and Adesina Adesanya (Pastor Ajidara) who also died recently.
Speaking with encomium.ng on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, the popular thespian said.the event has now been billed to hold from July 4 to  7, 2017, at different venues in Lagos, with the grand finale holding on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Grandeur Event Centre, Oregun (Ikeja, Lagos) which is going to have Fuji king, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde (K1 de Ultimate) on the band stand.
“It’s true I have postponed my birthday party and other activities already lined up for the 50th celebrations. I did that to honour the departed colleagues who will be buried around that period. Right now, the industry is in deep mourning. So, I need to reschedule my programme.
“Now, the activities to mark my 50th birthday will begin on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, visiting and greeting of accident victims, a round table discussion with select Theatre-Art students on Wednesday, July 5. Then, on July 6, we shall be having a night with stars and executives at The Executives Sports in Ikoyi, Lagos followed by visitation to Remand Home, Oregun, Lagos while the grand finale is slated for Friday, July 7, 2017, at Grandeur Event Center, Oregun, Lagos. K1 has been contacted to perform that day. It’s not about anything but to show appreciation to God.”
