‘Why I want to become Ikoyi/Obalande LG boss’ – Hon. John Omotola Soares

Hon. John Omotola Soares a.k.a JOS who declared his intension sometime in March this year to take over from the executive Secretary of Ikoyi/Obalende Local Government Area as chairman, has made a positive head start in his campaigns to become the next number one person of the council.

And he has made it known to all that his coming into the local government is to make a positive impact on his people if elected as the next chairman on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former student of the prestigious University of Greenwich, UK, has promised to support creativity among the youth across all sectors if he wins in the September Local Government election in Lagos State.

Having the attainment of an egalitarian, democratic and economically self-sustaining Ikoyi/Obalende community that unlocks the energies and resourcefulness of his people for greater good and prosperity, while assuring their liberty and freedom as his mission, JOS is competent and equally capable to take the local government to the next level.

His strategic focus includes good governance, economic competitiveness, workforce for the future, shareable and interconnected infrastructure, security, law and order and mobilized and engaged citizenry.

Hon. Soares was born, raised and bred in Ikoyi/Obalende, Lagos. He attended Obalende Primary School and Government College, Victoria Island, Lagos. After which, he proceed to University of Lagos and also graduated from University of Greenwich, UK with a BA in International Studies and Law. Then he proceeded to London School of Law for a degree programme that made him qualified and practice as an advocate.

He worked as an International Trade Officer at Nigeria High Commission, London. He also worked as a director for poverty release charity in Africa and in the UK. Apart from some financial support, he has also empowered some youth mentally, making them believe nothing is impossible if one is committed to it
