…Movie Producer Ogunfowokan Jacob

Fast-rising filmmaker, Cinematographer, music promoter and actor, Ogunfowokan Jacob knew what he wanted early in life. At a very young age, he was determined to break even and pursue his film making career.

According to him, he discovered his acting talent in primary school; we continued in secondary school and was cast among the actors that played a stage play for the senior students during their send forth party. “The character I played on stage turned me to instant star as parents and guests all called me thereafter to show their appreciation. The role I played on that stage earned me a nickname “Koledowo”.

After his secondary school, Ogunfowokan trained as a cameraman for three years at Muyad Film Productions at Oworonsoki, Lagos. Thereafter, he joined Black Image, a stage Theatre Institution. Jacob was introduced to Even Ezra, a filmmaker outfit owned by Femi Lasode as a cinematographer; but later became their continuity manager. The production he shot with Even Ezra includes Pa Salami Household, Paradise Park among others.

As a cinematographer, he had shot some films titled Omowunmi produced by Diran Adedeji, Ika Kan, Angeli Mi produced by Queen Omoniyi Fagbola, Pakute Enu, Adan, Ikoko Ayo, Aye Eniola, Omowunmi. His first produced movie titled Bose was done five years ago. His latest movie Ise Aremo Ni is a trado-modern story that occurred in the ancient days whereby a King’s son Aremo travelled abroad for his education. After many years, people in community are looking forward to see him including the youngest wife of the King who have only seen him in the picture.

After his education abroad, Aremo returns home. Having sighted him, the youngest wife of the king falls in love with him and thereby showing him affection, which Aremo rejects. A call came for the king to travel with the youngest wife (Olori) but she (youngest wife) refused to travel with the king claiming to be sick. While at the palace with the Aremo she lured him, with love portion which she adds into the food she prepared for him. Thereafter, Aremo under the spell of the love portion she ate in the food was seduced and had canal knowledge of the young Olori.

A week after the king returns from his destination, there was commotion in the land and people are dying, confusion everywhere; at that point, the king consults his oracle and the oracle reveals that the cause of the commotion in the village is within the king’s household. To know what happens thereafter, watch out for the film when it’s out.

Aremo Ni will be premiered May 3, 2015. According to the producer, “it’s going to be film premier/Awards presentation. We will honour dignitaries who have contributed to our success and also to the industry. The awardees include; Tope Agbeyo, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Snr Prophet Enoch Adesola (JP), Chief Olayinka Olowoporoku to mention but a few.

The event which will hold at Agidingbi Town Hall, 2 Abiodun Sobajo Str,  Ikeja, Lagos will feature Segun Adebayo as the Mc. Among the numerous musicians that will perform for the event includes Darrey Dollar, Aforigbare Twins, Eskey Black, Effizie Gold, YKB, MC Aramanda.

The movie, Aremo Ni Featured the late actor, Orioye Sokunbi, Don Richard, Arole Olofin, Sade Olokomerin, Yeye Oge, Femi and on his working experience, this soft spoken cool dude has also worked with the popular actor, Chief Kanran. “I’ve worked with him on several occasions as stage manager we’ve worked on stage play together and also movie productions. We did Alaafin Aole stage play together.

To gain entrance to be part of the movie premier, Jacob said N3,000 Ankara will serve as the invitation to gain an entrance into the event.
