Wimbledon dinner 2016: inside London’s Guildhall

London’s magnificent Guildhall, yesterday, July 10, threw its doors open to celebrate the world’s greatest tennis players.

After having seven Wimbledon titles under her belt, Serena Williams is not set to rest on her laurels; with a clear voice, she reaffirmed her hunger to clinch more Grand Slam titles, well, that would be in the coming years. Yesterday was a time to celebrate the present victory over German’s Angelique Kerber at the final stage.

Clearly ecstatic after her historic win, she smiled widely as she posed for photographers outside the historic venue, in front of a 2016 Wimbledon sign made from hedges.

This could be a gradual shift towards her ultimately aim to be named “one of the greatest athletes of all time,”

The 34-year-old tennis champion wore a dazzling floor-length red dress with a crystal-encrusted bodice to the event.

Being his second title , Men’s champion, Andy Murray, 29, in company of his wife, Kim Sears arrived the Wimbledon Champions Dinner in high spirits. The game against Canadian Milos Raonic in straight sets during the Wimbledon final ended 6-4, 7-6, 7-6, to earn the Scot, a third Grand Slam

Others who made it to the glamorous event were Heather Watson, who along with Henri Kontinen won the mixed doubles on Wimbledon’s final on Sunday; Ukrainian seventh seed Dayana Yastremska; Andy’s mother, Judy Murray, 56 who is also a tennis coach: Martina Navratilova and Tim Henman; Anastasia Potapova of Russia who won the girls singles title at Wimbledon by beating Dayana Yastremska on Saturday, and a host of others.
