YEMI SOLADE debunks debt tale ‘I DON’T OWE ANY TAILOR N100,000’

Contrary to social media report, star actor and interim national leader of Theatre and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Yemi Solade has denied knowing one Bako Omorilewa, a tailor in Abeokuta, Ogun State, let alone owing him N100,000. He added that the story neither has a head nor tail.
Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Sunday, May 4, 2014, the Abeokuta, Ogun born thespian expressed discomfort about the publication, labeling those sponsoring it as enemies of progress. He further described the report as not only malicious but misleading.
“The story itself lacked merit. I don’t even know the tailor they are talking about. It defies logic. I believe my emergence as TAMPAN head is the reason I am suddenly popular again. I can’t be distracted. My tailor is in Baruwa, Lagos. It’s not possible I sew clothes in Abeokuta, Ogun State while I live in Lagos. I think logic should tell any articulate mind what’s the truth about it.”
Asked about his next line of action concerning the damage the publication might have caused him, he simply reacted, “My lawyer will take it up’.
Meanwhile, the story has to do with a debt of about N100,000 he reportedly owes an Abeokuta, Ogun State tailor, Bako Omorilewa. The matter was said to be generating ripples which informed some of the role interpreter’s colleagues wading into it.
The tailor was also reported to have claimed that the cost of dresses he made for Solade was about N200,000 but a lady believed to be the film maker’s friend settled part of it when chasing him was becoming more embarrassing.
But when ENCOMIUM Weekly contacted Solade on the issue, he denied it all.
