CERTAINLY, Mr. Olujimi Kolawole Agbaje, a.k.a Jimi Agbaje will be contesting for the governorship of Lagos State in 2015 and it will be on the ticket of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
This ENCOMIUM Weekly can confirm.  It is no longer a rumour because we spoke with Mr. Jimi Agbaje himself on phone on Saturday, July 19, 2014, and he confirmed it to us.

Good afternoon, Sir.
Good afternoon Tolani, how are you?
Fine, thank you, sir.  We just want to confirm or debunk the rumour that you have joined PDP and that you are going to be their governorship candidate in 2015?
The Eko Initiative Group came to me that I should contest for the governorship of Lagos State in 2015 and that PDP is best suited for me to do that.
Did you accept their offer?
Yes, I am a member of the group.
So, we can authoritatively say that you are now a member of PDP and their governorship candidate in 2015?
I have not said so.  All I have said is that Eko Initiative Group proposed to me to contest for the state governorship in 2015, on the platform of PDP.
Who are the members of this Eko Initiative Group?
They are professionals, politicians, non-politicians, market women and many others.
Can you give us a name or two of members of this Eko Initiative Group?
I am a member.
Apart from you, who are the other members of the group?
No, I can’t tell you that.
Thank you sir.

ENCOMIUM Weekly, in its Tuesday, July 15, 2014 edition had written that Chief Olabode George, a prominent chieftain of PDP in Lagos State was one of the forces behind the push for Jimi Agbaje as the party’s governorship candidate in 2015, because of his non-controversial and sparkling reputation as a politician.
We also wrote that Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, the Minister of State for Defence, who contested on the ticket of PDP in 2007, the same year Mr. Jimi Agbaje contested on the ticket of Democratic People’s Alliance (DPA), is still very much interested in taking a shot at the governorship seat once again.  We gathered that our story prompted the promoters of Jimi Agbaje to quickly come out to declare that he will be contesting the governorship on the platform of PDP in Lagos State.
Mr. Olujimi Kolawole Agbaje was born on March 2, 1957. He attended University of Ife (Obafemi Awolowo University) where he graduated in 1978 as a pharmacist.  After a few years as managing pharmacist for a private pharmacy, he formed his own company, Jaykay Pharmacy Ltd., in 1984, where he is still the managing director.
He has served on the boards of a number of successful organizations.  These includes Epic Pharmaceuticals Limited, Vigeo Holdings Limited, Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park and Premier Music.
He is Vice Chairman, Atlantic Hall School, Epe. He is the founder, Jimi Agbaje Outreach, a project dedicated to help the less fortunate.  His foray into politics started during Abacha’s regime when he joined the Concerned Professionals that put pressure on late Abacha. He was later the treasurer, Afenifere, the Pan-Yoruba political group that metamorphosed to Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 1999.  He contested the Lagos State governorship in 2007, on the ticket of Democratic People’s Alliance (DPA), a breakaway of Alliance for Democracy (AD), led by Chief Olu Falae and Chief Ayo Adebanjo.
He came third after Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola of ACN then and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro of PDP in that election.
Aside Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Mr. Agbaje will be contending with the likes of Engr. Deji Doherty, Mr. Owolabi Silas and Mr. Adegboyega Dosumu, all members of Lagos PDP, who are also interested in the party’s governorship ticket.
