Popular magazine programme of the Cable News Network, African Voices, sponsored by telecommunications giant, Globacom, will this week focus on creative arts, especially photography and painting as practised by three outstanding African talents.
CNN International explained that fine artists have shown, through their mastery, that a blank canvas is just the start of a grand masterpiece adding, “Whether it is capturing the personality of a person through photographs or adorning alleyways with thought-provoking imagery, they are using their skills to create beauty”.
One of the three guests on the programme is a popular Senegalese photographer who is reputed as deriving inspiration from her beachside town to create life- simulating snapshots which have been exhibited in several cities across the globe.
The second photographer from Cape Town, South Africa, is a world-renowned artist “who uses everything from gallery walls to street murals as a means of self-expression”. He will be engaging viewers about his passion for painting and the events that fanned his interest in the art.
Their Rwandan colleague on the programme is a photographer who CNN describes as using his work as evidence of the frenetic developmental strides which the country’s capital city, Kigali, has gained in recent times.
CNN African Voices last week featured performing arts with South African ballerina, Shannon Glover,Mozambican singer, Deltino Guerreiro, and Ugandan comedian, Joseph Opio as guests.
Globacom enjoined viewers to keep a date with the programme at 10.30 a.m. on Friday to ascertain the identities of the talents. Repeat editions hold at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday, 12.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Sunday, 11:30 p.m. on Sunday and 5.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
