Ibrahim Idris is the new Inspector General of Police


A former Kano State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris has been appointed as the acting Inspector General of Police, has learnt.

President Muhammadu Buhari will announce his appointment later today, June 21, 2016 after fully briefing the new appointee in the presidential villa.

Mr. Idris was until his appointment an Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of operations at the force headquarters, Abuja and he replaces Solomon Arase, who retires from the police force today as he clocks the compulsory retirement age of 60.
