Obaseki is APC governorship candidate in Edo

At 4:05 am today (Sunday, June 19, 2016), Godwin Obaseki was declared the winner of the gubernatorial primary elections of All Progressives Congress in Edo state. Obaseki defeated 11 other candidates, leading the poll with 1,618 votes. Dr. Pius Odubu was a distant second with 471 votes.

Conducted at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin city, the elections was started on Saturday (June 18), and it was chaired by governor of Katsina, Alhaji AMINU Masari.

Here are the votes polled by each candidate:

*Godwin Obaseki – 1,618

*Pius Odubu – 471

* Kenneth Imasuagbon – 247

* Chris Ogiemwonyi – 137

* Charles Airhiavbere – 11

*Emmanuel  Arigbe-Osula – 10

* Peter Esele – 8

*Ebegue Amadasun – 8

*Austin  Emuan – 7

*Blessing Agbomere – 5

*Tina Agbarha – 3

Accredited  delegates were 2,582, and invalid votes were 41. 

The elections into Edo state government house will hold on Saturday, September 11, 2016.
