Sanwo-Olu also urged the residents to take excellent care of the upgraded roads to ensure that they stand the test of time, and are not subjected to abuse and misuse, noting that “The longer our roads last, the more the resources we are able to free up to attend to other projects.”

Olufemi Daramola, said the rehabilitation of the roads is expected to boost economic activities by increasing property values, supporting local businesses and improving access to educational institutions, commercial centers and residential neighbourhoods.

He said: “The rehabilitation of these roads will bring a significant improvement to the community. As a major strategic arterial road, it will serve as a key alternative route for motorists, significantly reduce travel time and ease traffic congestion.

“This initiative is aligned with the ongoing efforts to enhance intermodal transportation in Lagos, further reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure.”

Also speaking, the stakeholders which included the Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe, HRM Oba Owolabi Adeyemi Adeniyi; member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Somolu I, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya and Chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon.
