50,000-1 odds! Woman gives birth to second set of twins in less than a year

An already mother of five astonished doctors after she went to be sterilized, only for pre-operation tests to reveal she was five-months pregnant with a set of twins – the second in just eight months.

Donna Cordingley, in a 50,000-1 odds, gave birth to a second set of twins in June 2012 – just six days to the first birthday of her first set of twins (who were born in June 2011).

She said: “The first set of twins was a complete shock to the system and took some getting used to, but to go on and have a second set 11 months later, was absolutely life changing.”
