Amosun mourns IGI founder, Olowude

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has described the sudden death of foremost insurance guru, Chief Remi Olowude as devastating and “a personal loss”.

In statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs Olufunmilayo Wakama, Amosun said he is saddened by the news of the death of the executive vice chairman/chief executive officer of Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc.

“Honestly, I am shocked beyond words at the news of the passing on of Chief Olowude, the father of Nigerian Modern Day Insurance. His death is not only a loss to the insurance world but also a personal loss to me.

“One can only take solace in the fact that he has gone to rest with his Creator”. the governor said.

Amosun, commiserated with the family of the deceased, the management and staff of IGI Plc and indeed the insurance industry on the death of Chief Olowude, describing him as a  core professional who contributed immensely to the growth of the insurance profession in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general.
He prayed the almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
