The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has advocated the need for public and private higher institutions of learning to explore the use of research findings towards nation building.
Hosting the Management team of Babcock University, led by the President and Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ademola Tayo in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office yesterday, the governor said this will help in the quest for solutions to the nation’s socio-economic challenges.
While acknowledging the commendable leadership style of the management of the university, he noted that the university has been a worthy partner in his government’s Mission to Rebuild Ogun State.
Amosun reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue to work with people and institutions that are relevant to the vision and mission of his government.
Earlier in his address, Tayo stated that the team came to identify with the Amosun government’s giant infrastructural development strides, particularly the construction of roads across the state.
The vice chancellor also commended the government for the revolution in the health sector and the successful hosting of the African Drums Festival, which according to him, brought the entire African continent together in unity.
He appreciated the governor for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state as well as maintaining security of lives and property.
Tayo stated that the institution is particular about the health sector and expressed the readiness of his management to partner with the state government in areas, such as, health, agriculture and education.
