Anxiety grips all as Ronke Shonde’s autopsy is released to Police

Concerned compatriots are anxious as pathologists from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, presents to the Police today (Tuesday, May 17,2016) the autopsy report of late Ronke Shonde, 36, who was allegedly killed by her husband of eight years and father of her two children, Lekan, 51.

Since the case has been closely followed since Friday, May 6, when the corpse of the young woman was discovered by her nanny and neighbours at their Tiemo Crescent, Egbeda, Lagos home, many are demanding a public declaration of the cause of death. Nigerians are eager that our Police follows the path of enlightened forces across the world and hold a press conference in a matter of days to disclose probable cause of death.

The announcement that the autopsy will not be publicly announced has irritated keen followers of the saga. And the town is agog with speculation.

Some of their permutations include suicide, reckless and violent battery, sudden death occasioned by heart attack or choking, terminal disease, accidental death, poisoning, etc.

The pathologists were said to have conducted the autopsy last week, and reported to complete their findings and deliver the report to the Police today. The remains of the diseased can thereafter be released to the Bewajis who in turn will decide on the funeral schedule…
