Encomium
At House on the Rock Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos, on Friday, March 28, 2014, there was a mild drama between the lead pastor, Paul Adefarasin and King of Afrobeat, Femi Kuti, during the funeral service of Olufemi Enitan Segun.
While describing paradise, Pastor Adefarasin indicated that Segun was already there because he accepted Christ and became born again.
He claimed that he had attended a few funerals where he knew that the deceased was on his way to hell –and enjoined all to accept Jesus.
At this time the camera focused on Femi Kuti who was unperturbed, as many are aware of his position on Christianity.
Later in the foyer, Femi Kuti engaged many in discussion about the episode –and stated that it was even those who claim to be religious that ordered the death of Jesus. That they preferred for Him to die, than to exchange him for Barnabas.
Later, the Afrobeat king was approached by Pastor Adefarasin, and both talked at length in the foyer and on the stairway. And at the end, positions were maintained. They parted ways amicably.
