British officials have revealed that the new driverless cars will be tested on roads in a trial program to begin in January, next year.
The cars which are guided by sensors and cameras will be tested in a period of up to three years, the officials said yesterday (July 30).
The plan will include two types of driverless technology. One places a driver in the car who can take the controls if needed; another calls for a fully autonomous vehicle with no driver present.
