The British government has rushed through an order for up to half a million protective suits against the Ebola virus disease (EVD) as the extent of the global Ebola crisis becomes clear.
The suits will be used to protect British forces and health workers in war-torn Sierra Leone, one of the countries where the current epidemic is thriving.
The outbreak has killed over 3,000 people in West Africa, and infected Westerners (Europeans and Americans) who had traveled to the region, as well as the health workers treating them.
