Glo to Nigeria at 54: We’ll continue to support nation’s aspirations

Telecommunications frontliner, Globacom, has sent a congratulatory message to the people and government of Nigeria on the nation’s 54th independence anniversary with a pledge to continue its support for the aspirations of Nigeria’s founding fathers.

The company said in a statement in Lagos that the company would continue to support the aspirations of the country by providing world-class telecommunications products and services and contributing its quota to the empowerment of the citizens through investment in social projects

According to Globacom, the occasion is worthy of celebration, considering the fact that the nation has surmounted the challenges that have confronted her nationhood in the last 54 years of her existence and has remained strong and indivisible in spite of them.

“We rejoice with our beloved nation, Nigeria; the Federal Government; state governments; local governments, and our esteemed compatriots across the nation on this great occasion. We acknowledge that we may yet have challenges as a nation, but we should not allow this to overwhelm us. Instead, we need to look at the achievements we have recorded in the last 54 years. That will serve as positive reinforcement of our resolve to march on till we get to our desired destination,” Globacom said.

The network also congratulated the people on the sustenance of democracy since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999, and for weathering all the storms that arose on its political terrain while urging Nigerians to remain focused and strive to consolidate the gains of the past 15 years of democratic rule, especially in the area of instituting due process, continuing with the reforms in the financial and telecommunication sectors.

“This will ultimately get the country to the lofty heights it desires”, the statement added.
