Lagos stands still as Headies holds tomorrow – Psquare, Wizkid, Davido, Patoranking, others to perform + as organisers release guidelines for guests

Industry heavyweights, nominees and music disciples will converge at the Expo Centre of the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, tomorrow (Sunday, December 14, 2014) for the 9th edition of The Headies, Nigeria’s most credible musical awards.

The organizers, Smooth Promotions, will ensure all things work out for the success of the show, which has the successful humour merchant, Bovi and eloquent radio presenter, Toke Makinwa, as  Hosts.

In a chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Friday, December 12, 2014, Mr Ayo Animashaun (the head of Smooth Promotions) expressed satisfaction so far on the preparation. He stressed, “We are working hard to stage the best music award that will be on the lips of many in a long time. Remember, we started in 2006 and each year, we have ways of stepping up our game. This is the 9th edition, it’s definitely going to be unique.”

Performing live on stage is multiple award-winning singers, Psquare. This will be the singing duo’s first public outing since they lost their father barely a month ago. Also expected to thrill fans are the raves of the moment, Starboy singer Wizkid; Davido, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, among others. Special appearance of the night will be performance from Sir Victor Uwaifo.

Meanwhile, to make the show hitch free, the organizers have released guidelines and some exciting activities for attendees. In an exclusive release forwarded to ENCOMIUM Weekly, Mr. Opeyemi Aluko, the Business Development officer for Smooth Promotions revealed the programmes, as follows:

Pre-Awards Cocktail
5:30pm – 6:30pm
(Gate opens 4:40pm & closes 5:45pm)
The Headies Pre-Awards Cocktail will be a colourful and exquisite gathering of the who-is-who in Nigeria entertainment industry. It will create the perfect atmosphere for them to network.

Red Carpet
6pm – 8pm
(Red Carpet lights go off at 8:15pm)
As usual, The Headies Red Carpet will bring to life all the glitz and glamour that comes with the Entertainment industry. It will feature exciting interview and photo sessions, with paparazzi moments. (This event is for Premium, Gold and VVIP ticket holders only)

The Headies Awards show
8pm (Gate Closes at 9pm)
The Headies Awards show will reward artistes who have excelled in their art. The night will be crowned with amazing performances of some of the biggest songs released in the year in review.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The Headies 2014 experience begins with a Pre-Awards cocktail at 5:30pm. Gate opens at 4:40 and closes at exactly 5:45pm (Admittance to this event is strictly by Invite)

The Pre-Awards cocktail is for the 324 most important personalities in the entertainment industry.

·         A sticker that reads VVIP/Premium is included in all VVIP and Premium envelope.

·         Please ensure that this sticker is pasted on your vehicle to allow for VVIP/Premium access.

·         The Headies traffic control officers/volunteers will be glad to help you with relevant information concerning parking.

The Headies Awards show will commence at exactly 9:00pm

·         Tickets do not permit entry into the awards auditorium. Wristbands will be worn for all attendees at the gate before admittance.

·         The attached Information slip should be filled and will be collected for accreditation before wristbands are issued.

·         Please check boards and signs that read your ticket category.

·         Admittance into the hall during the event will only be allowed at suitable breaks in the programme.

·         Smoking is prohibited in the hall and is only permitted in designated areas outside the auditorium.

·         Ticket/Wristband may no longer be valid if you are not in the Auditorium by 8pm.

·         Cameras, camcorders, tape recorders and all other recording devices will not be allowed inside the event hall.

·         Ticket holders consent to the recording and filming of themselves as members of the audience.

·         Movement may be restricted in the event venue.

·         Food and/or drink will not be allowed into the event hall.
